Immaculate heart of Mary Catholic School in Windsor Terrace Brooklyn

I was born into a Catholic household so naturally I was raised in a Christian manner. As a part of this I had to go to church every Sunday and attend religious instruction courses. The school you see above was the local Catholic school, which was part of the neighborhood church. I went there in the 2nd grade when I was 7 years old to take classes for my Holy Communion. This was a part time class that took place on Wednesday afternoons. This school was only 3 blocks away from my elementary school. We walked to get there. All of the students who had to take this class were escorted to this school as a group by an adult volunteer (one of the parents) After class our parents would pick us up. I took a coure called Catechism, which taught us about the life of Jesus, his parents Mary & Joseph, the disciples, the stations of the cross, the crucifixion, and the resurrection. In summer of 1966 I had my first Communion. After Communion I all I did was go to Church on Sundays for the next couple of years until it was time to prepare for my Confirmation. See the next page.
